Roundtable Discussion on the 5th Istanbul Process Meeting

Governmental and non-governmental representatives gathered in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, June 3 to 5, 2015, for the 5th Istanbul Process meeting. Hosted by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the meeting focused on implementation of United Nations Human Rights Council Resolution 16/18 on “Combating Intolerance, Negative Stereotyping and Stigmatization of, and Discrimination, Incitement to Violence and Violence Against, Persons Based on Religion or Belief.”

Several individuals representing non-governmental organizations which are members of the UN NGO Committee on Freedom of Religion or Belief have been intimately involved in this process, including our very own Christen Broecker, of the Jacob Blaustein Institute for the Advancement of Human Rights, who attended the Jeddah meeting. In order to inform the broader FoRB community on this Process, please join us for a roundtable discussion featuring an update from Ms. Broecker on the Jeddah meeting, and insights from others who have been involved from the beginning.

This meeting will take place Tuesday, June 23, 2015, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., in the Bahá’í International Community United Nations Office, located at 866 UN Plaza (Suite 120), New York, NY 10017.
