Meeting With Lutz Töpfer, Special Counsel in Germany’s Christian Democratic Party

The United Nations NGO Committee on Freedom of Religion or Belief in New York is pleased to announce it will host a meeting with Lutz Töpfer, who serves as special counsel for Volker Kauder, current chairman of the parliamentarian group of the Christian Democratic Party in the German Bundestag.

This event will take place Friday, August 29, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to noon, in the Bahá’í International Community United Nations Office, located at 866 UN Plaza (Suite 120), New York, NY 10017.

Mr. Töpfer, who covers human rights issues for Mr. Kauder, will provide brief remarks on recent efforts by the German government and the Christian Democratic Party to advance the rights to freedom of religion and belief. He will then dialogue with the Committee on its work, and how members of the German parliament can get more involved in efforts at the United Nations headquarters in New York to combat religion-based discrimination and persecution.

RSVPs and questions can be directed to unforb@gmail.com.
